Come and see Olympic Gold Medalist, Tom Burton! Tom has taken time out of his training for the Tokyo Olympics to come up be part of our discover sailing day. You can even get to hold his Olympic Gold medal.
Lake Tinaroo is the safest place in North Queensland to have a go at the sport of sailing. Discover Sailing Days are a fantastic way to have a great afternoon out with your partner, friends, work colleagues or family. Our club looks forward to showing you just how fun, safe, accessible and affordable sailing is.
You’ll have the option to go out for a short sail with an experienced sailor, have a look around the club facilities and find out about the programs and sailing courses available. There is something for the whole family and even kids as young as five years old can sail, when accompanied by a parent or guardian. People of all abilities are welcome.
Discover Sailing Day is free to attend and all boats and safety equipment is provided by the club. All you need to bring is clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, sun screen and a hat. Shoes with non-marking soles are preferred. On arrival there will be friendly members and hosts in and around the club to answers any questions.

You will have experienced sailing and have been introduced to your local Sailing Club, who will have provided you with information on what other opportunities, courses and activities are on offer that will enable you to continue your participation in sailing.
